How to vote
Marking your ballot
You can help elect Glenn De Baeremaeker by filling in the middle of the arrow next to his name on the ballot (as illustrated above).

Make sure you’re on the voters’ list
Having your name on the voters’ list makes voting fast and easy. If you’re not sure if you’re on the voters’ list, you can call 311 to find out.

Don’t forget: Bring proper identification!
To vote in this election, you are required to provide identification. The voter information card can NOT be used as ID! When you come to vote, please bring:

OR

Two pieces of identification : one piece of identification showing your name and signature, and a second piece of identification showing your name and Toronto address. For a list of examples, click here.

If you do not have identification but your name is on the voters' list, you will be required to sign a Declaration of Identity to receive a ballot. If you refuse to show identification or take the declaration, you will not be given a ballot.

Voting by proxy
By completing a proxy certificate, you can appoint another person to vote on your behalf, as long as he or she is a qualified voter. The Scarborough Civic Centre and Toronto City Hall are just some of the locations where you can pick up the certificate. If you’d like it mailed to you, call the city’s Election Information Line: 416-338-1111. For more information on voting by proxy, please visit www.toronto.ca/elections

Where to vote
Eligible voters must vote in the neighbourhood in which they live EXCEPT on the weekday advance voting days. Locations for advance voting are listed in the section below. If you plan on voting on Election Day and need help finding a polling station near you, please contact Glenn’s campaign office by e-mail or phone (416-431-9570). Don’t forget to include your name, full address and phone number.

When to vote
Election Day
Election Day is on Monday, October 25, 2010. Voting places will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Advance Voting
Advance voting is open to any qualified voter who, for whatever reason, prefers to vote before Election Day.

Weekday advance voting for the 2010 election
Dates: Tuesday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 8
Tuesday, Oct. 12 to Wednesday, Oct. 13
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on all of the days above
Locations: The Weekday Advance Vote allows Toronto voters to vote at Toronto City Hall or at any of the Civic Centres, no matter what part of the city they live in.

In Scarborough, the Weekday Advance Vote is located in Committee Room 1 at the Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Drive, near the Scarborough Town Centre Shopping Mall.

Sunday, Oct. 17
Hours:10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both of the days above

Voting for people with disabilities
The Touch Screen Terminal will be available during the Weekday Advance Vote (see above for dates). Features of this machine include:
....... · an audio ballot feature that helps voters with visual disabilities
· braille-embossed navigation buttons that enable voters with a visual disability to efficiently vote in complete privacy
· wheelchair accessibility.

The Voter Assist Terminal will be available for use during the Weekend Advance Vote and on Election Day (see above for dates) in one location per ward. This terminal allows voters with disabilities to mark paper ballots privately and independently and is wheelchair accessible. Key features include:
....... · a rocker paddle for voters with limited motor control
· a braille key pad for voters who are blind or have limited visibility
· an audio function that enables voters with impaired vision to listen to choices
· a zoom feature that enables voters to increase the font size of each office listed on the ballot
· a Sip-N-Puff Device.

Since the Voter Assist Terminal is only available in one location per ward on Election Day, eligible voters who would like to use this terminal must call Toronto Election Services at 416-338-1111 (press 6) to make the necessary arrangements.
